Join us for the Whitby Steampunk Weekend! Steampunk events will be happening throughout 27th, 28th and 29th July 2018 and you won’t want to miss out.
The town is transformed by the Whitby Steampunk Weekend. Steampunkers come from all over the UK to get together, show off their latest costumes and enjoy themselves. It’s fun to be involved even if you’ve not got your own steampunk outfits.
You’re spoiled for choice over the Steampunk Weekend here in Whitby. There are loads of different activities and events to keep you entertained.
There are several events that you’ll need to book your tickets for before you arrive.
Friday 27th – Alice in Wonderland Themed Masquerade Ball
Your tickets for this event cost only £15. The Met Ballroom doors open at 7pm, and the show commences at 7:45pm. You’ll be partying until midnight!
Saturday 28th – Steampunk Summertime Evening
Your Saturday night will be filled with fantastic music, comedy and high jinks. In the past, this event has been so popular, this year they’re bringing back lots of the acts Steampunkers already know, love and have actually requested!
The entertainment will feature: Victor and The Bully, Alice’s Night Circus, Captain of the Night Waves, Lady Violet Hugh. It’ll be hosted by M.C. Lord Montague Jacques Fromage.
You’ll find it in the Whitby Pavilion. Doors open at 7pm and the show will begin at 7:30pm.

On Saturday, join in with the Steampunk Seaside Summertime Stroll and take a preamble along West Cliff for a photography session under the famous Whitby whalebones. Meet at the Met Ballroom at 5:15pm and head over together in true Steampunk style for your photoshoot. It’s all free!
Steampunk retail emporium
There’s free admission to over 100 vendors in the Steampunk Emporium in the Whitby Pavilion. It’s open from 10am – 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday and covers four different retail rooms.
In the Pavilion and the Met Ballroom, you’ll also find:
- Live music
- Workshops and tutorials
- Victorian freaky sideshows
- Hot rods, rat rods and bikes
- Bartitsu and Antagonistics
- Spiritualism and mesmerism
- Tea and pistol dulling
- Steampunk guest panels
