NYMR Railway In Wartime

13 October @ 8:30 am - 15 October @ 7:25 pm

Go To NYMR website for ticket prices

Relive the amazing spirit and camaraderie of World War II and enjoy the various re-enactments, entertainment and vehicle displays along the line at Pickering, Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont Stations.

Along the line of the heritage railway the clock will be turned back when Britain was in the thick of a world war. Each station will be transformed to create a variety of scenarios including child evacuees and a cinema showing films and newsreels from the period at Pickering, Home Guard demonstrations at Goathland, with music and dance entertainment at Grosmont. Levisham will once again be transformed into the German-occupied French village of Le Visham with re-enactment displays and Café Allée du Bois. Wreath-laying ceremonies at Pickering and Grosmont stations helped to underpin a serious message over the weekend.
