2020 holds lots of exciting events in Whitby, especially if you’re interested in learning a new skill or developing a creative interest. The Raithwaite Estate have teamed up with some fantastic artists, photographers and jewellery makers to bring you some very special creative workshops.
These workshops bring some of the best local talent to you. You’ll spend your time working with the artist, photographer and jeweller to create pieces of your very own, informed by their expertise and inspired by our beautiful local area.
The workshops run throughout the year. You can book on to:
Painting and Monoprinting
Work alongside Patrick Smith as you develop your skills in painting and give monoprinting a try.
Patrick’s workshop run: 2nd – 4th March and 14th – 16th September 2020.
Make stunning seascapes and landscapes with the very talented Justine Warner using a variety of recycled and experimental textiles.
Justine’s workshops run: 6th – 8th April and 26th – 28th October 2020.
Try your hand at making your very own jewellery with Louise Dwyer. What could be more special than leaving Whitby at the end of your stay with your very own, beautiful, wearable memento of your time here?
Louise’s workshops run: 27th – 29th April to 22nd – 24th June 2020.
Become a master behind the camera and learn the tricks of the trade from Lucy Saggers. The Yorkshire coast is utterly beautiful and in this creative workshop, you’ll gain the skills to capture it perfectly.
Lucy’s workshops run: 4th – 6th May and 5th – 7th October 2020.
