2. Captain Cook Memorial Museum

Visit the house that famous explorer Captain James Cook lodged and studied in during his apprenticeship in Whitby in 1746. You can see some of the letters he wrote, find out about the ships he sailed on and the discoveries he made, and lots more in the Captain Cook Memorial Museum.

6. Eden Camp

Eden Camp transports you back in time to learn what life would have been like for soldiers in World War Two. It’s based on the grounds of an old Prisoner of War camp and offers a unique and interesting insight into history.

You can put your creative skills to the test at Whitby Kiln and try your hand at pottery painting. It’s great fun for all ages and abilities and there are over 250 types of pottery you can choose from. 9. Mini Monsterz

Mini Monsterz is perfect for keeping the kids entertained when it’s raining. It has a huge indoor play area with a climbing wall and some of the biggest slides in North Yorkshire as well as laser tag in the evening for both adults and children to enjoy.
