Whitby Regatta is one of the oldest sea regattas in the country, with local lads and lasses taking part in annual rowing races along the bay from Sandsend or Upgang Ravine into the harbour since 1840. The finishing line is by the Lifeboat Pier.
Event times may vary slightly because of weather and sea conditions. Please buy a Regatta programme (cost £2) when you arrive in the town, to help keep this traditional event running. The programme gives details of all the events taking place and also enters you into the Treasure Trail. Each programme has a unique number - and if you see that number displayed in a shop window around town, then enter the shop and claim your prize.
