More about North Shire - Camping & Caravanning
Located only 15 minutes’ drive from the historic seaside resort of Whitby, North Shire at Liverton is the ideal place for families with younger children wishing to enjoy a well-earned break and experience a slower but magical pace of life.
Take a trip in to Whitby, world-famous for its connections with Captain Cook, the 199 steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, fabulous golden beaches, Whitby Jet, Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”, and the annual Regatta and Folk weekends, Goth Weekends, Pavilion (entertainments) and much more. North Shire is close by to Whitby and is set within 6 acres of farmland within the North York Moors National Park. Take a steam ride on the fantastic North Yorkshire Moors Railway (includes stopping at Goathland Station, also known as ‘Hogsmeade Station’ for the Hogwarts Express stop off in the Harry Potter films).
Combining a haven of peace and tranquillity, North Shire is perfect for walking in the North York Moors, cycling, photography, spotting wildlife and bird watching. In the grounds and gardens there’s plenty of colourful flowers and plants to enjoy, whilst sitting out and relaxing in the fresh country air, taking in the wonderful scenic surroundings.
Caravanning & Camping - This excellently run family farm offers a great variety of self-catering accommodation and has its very own camping field which accommodates Touring Caravans, Campervans and Tents. The Camping Field is open all year round and has 5 electric hook-up points and takes up to 10 tents at one time. Due to popularity, it’s best to book early to avoid disappointment, as spaces are limited.
Gypsy Bow Top Wagons (3 Wagons, each sleep 2 adults) – for that fabulous feeling of freedom, these three Gypsy Caravans offer a more traditional type of holiday. Staying in a bow top caravan is an exciting and novel way to spend a holiday sleeping under the stars. Kitted out in true and traditional gypsy style, these cosy and quaint Wagons offer the full comforts of modern day living but have that true Romany feel. They’re supplied with electricity and plenty of pretty fairy lights. These are booked with a minimum of two nights’ stay.
Shepherd’s Huts (2 Huts - both sleep 4) – sleeping under Scotch Pine trees and starry skies, these quirky and unusual Shepherd’s Wagons are perfect for enjoying a relaxing and tranquil family holiday. There’s plenty of space in each one and they’re kitted out with a mini kitchen with gas hob, for basic cooking to feed a family of 4.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING: Please bring your own towels, torch, bedding, cooking equipment and Cool Box. North Shire are very happy to freeze ice packs for you (please ask).
