Lavinia House is a delightful Victorian townhouse and dates back to the 1850s. It overlooks the harbour and is situated on Whitby’s Khyber Pass. This stunning guest house has been lovingly decorated and refurbished whilst still retaining many of it’s original features and all of it’s character and charm.
Lavinia House boasts seven large double bedrooms with en suite facilities and two of these rooms have four-poster beds which makes them ideal for any special occasion! A number of the bedrooms have delightful sea views and each of the bedrooms come complete with a colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clock and a assortment of complimentary toiletries making it feel just like home.
Start the day in the light and airy dining room for a scrumptious breakfast, were there are many options available to suit all appetites including a full English breakfast. If you are after a lighter dish then there is a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, baked beans on toast, poached or scrambled eggs and plenty of toast with preserve and tea and coffee on offer.
Lavinia House is located close to Whitby’s harbour and is the perfect base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area. Whitby is a lovely working fishing port and has a vast selection of boutiques and specialist shops, fish and chip shops, cafes, restaurants, museums and galleries and has a stunning long sandy beaches, it is also home to the famous Abbey, all well worth an explore..
If you would like to go further a field then along the coast there is Robins Hood’s Bay a beautiful small fishing village and the stunning seaside resort of Scarborough home to the amazing North Bay and South Bay which have views overlooking the castle remains situated on the headland. Why not take a trip in land and discover what the North Yorkshire Moors has to offer with it’s the rustic heather moor land, charming pretty villages or you might like to take a ride on the magnificent Moors steam railway which runs from Grosmont to Pickering.
